Do you ever keep promises to yourself?

I think I have never kept any promise to myself. Promises don't mean anything when they are only redirected to the promise-giver. But of course I didn't keep too many promises too others neither. Maybe I should just stop promising at all.

Wish or raising the obstacles

I would like to roll my last cigarette with one hand, preferably the left.

P.S. A much better idea would be to stop and then not to start again before having made a roll-up with the left hand, I feel. Mmm.

Self-pity alarm!

Move With Me (shortly followed by Somedays and Red Paint) has always been my favourite song (yes I am such a simple mind) by Neneh Cherry and I have been always hoping to find the woman who would say to me:

I am seriously beginning to doubt if this woman exists outside of my brain.

da ist jetzt dieser schlingensief an der hauptwache mit seinen 7 arbeits-, obdach- und wasweißich-losen drei meter hoch sitzenden. diese kakophonie. eine einzige inszenierung. ein jesushimmelgottliebtunsalle-prediger gegen eine atheistin. so einen schrott gibt es ja nicht mal im tv. oder doch?

mann, kam ich mir scheiße vor, als ich einer jungen frau mit kind nicht sagen konnte, was für kinderattraktionen es auf der iaa gibt, gestern. hinterher fiel mir mit fremdhilfe ein, dass es diese trampolins gibt. wo die kinder angeschnallt werden. nicht so richtig wirklich eine prickelnde attraktion. eher eine vorbereitung auf das spätere leben...

Public solitude

Ich glaube mein Weblog macht mich noch einsamer als ich sowieso schon bin. Und deswegen schreibe ich hier auch nichts mehr. Denn Einsamkeit habe ich schon genug.

Translation: I think my weblog makes me even lonelier as I am already. And that's why I don't write here anymore. I have had my share of loneliness already.

Sommerloch

That's the period of the big summer holidays where the news are even more made-up than usual. Where absolutely nothing happens as even the politicians are somewhere on a beach, sipping their tequila sunrises. I am very deep in this summer hole myself. The heat, 35 degrees celsius is one reason, another one is that I am more and more realizing that the part of contemporary music I like is even smaller than I thought and gets smaller every day. Stuff I used to love doesn't do it anymore for me. Even Joni Mitchell sounds so far away and dated though she is of course absolutely timeless.

One track I heve been enjoying is Hard to Find from American Analog Set's new not yet in Germany available album Promise of Love which is available as mp3 at Insound. This band is sooo mellow, it's unbelievable. The perfect music for hot summer evenings. So relaxed, so tuneful, so addictive. How can a band be so sweet? Live they are even lovelier, by the way.
