[literature] April 26, 2006 at 9:24:00 PM CEST Last night I watched this 27 minute documentary about Jack Kerouac (thank you kingblind). They are all there. Neal Cassady, Edie Parker Kerouac (Jack's first wife), Carolyn Cassady (Neal & Jack & Me), Allen Ginsberg, John Clellon Holmes, Gregory Corso, Michael McClure, William Burroughs, Gary Snyder and Jack himself on that TV show with William Buckley Jr. a year before his death where he is succeeding in being the most drunk person which has ever appeared on television. When he reads it's magic though. The melody, the flow. Everything he has written has to be read aloud. It's music to my ears. Some quotes: After he wrote the book Neal wouldn't talk with him. I think that Neal became the character of the book. I think it was forced upon him and I think that's what killed him. (Edie Parker Kerouac)
