Which of the following is your favourite album?

that's why i put elastica. they are eclectic but in a new way. their album was so fresh and punchy. whereas the retro-rock of the last ten years or so leaves me completely cold. except the late radiohead but that'a another story.

of the ones you mention i only own the bowie and the tricky. i never really understood the fuss about tricky, i preferred him in massive attack, like on "fake the aroma" on the phantastic help-sampler, one of the few samplers which i find essential as it really captured a period in rock music. his kind of avantgarde i always found slightly annoying.

the bowie i remember as ok, especially for bowie whom i never liked too much. as with tricky, his voice often is too forced for my taste.

i am quite intrigued about the two female songwriter albums you mention. aimee mann's bachelor #2 was a faultless pop album. siberry and jazz sounds good as i said on your post on her already. both albums are difficult to get hold of these days. maybe i'll look for them on ebay.

i got the next faust album you know faust which i liked but which didn't blow me away.

elliott (double t!) smith didn't break my heart yet. but i know that in theory his music is definitely down my alley.
