October 18, 2005 at 7:17:00 PM CEST [music, albums] October 18, 2005 at 7:17:00 PM CEST Not again Two complete versions of "Ascension" were recorded, and Coltrane selected one to be released in 1966.
From the liner notes to the 2000 reissue of the two versions of Ascension Okay then I guess I have to interpret Ascension as a 1965 live concert then. According to some sources the some people in the audience were screaming during the recording as the music was so intense. link (no comments) ... comment October 17, 2005 at 10:42:00 PM CEST [links] October 17, 2005 at 10:42:00 PM CEST Pas très catholique Tuvans have a higher than average syphilis infection rate; according to the Moscow Times, 2.5% of the population has the disease. This has been blamed on the Shamanist traditions of the Republic, which hold that a woman is more fertile if she has had a large number of sexual partners before marriage.

It's my new favourite digital radio station. The one I listen to in my car when I go to and come back from work. It's about a twenty minute ride to work. Enough for half a stycast. Which is a workdaily mp3 consisting of often exciting new and old music plus commentary by someone from the stylus magazine team. Right now this is how I find out about good music. Back in the 90s it was Bernard Lenoir's France Inter program. link (no comments) ... comment October 14, 2005 at 7:58:00 PM CEST [music, songs] October 14, 2005 at 7:58:00 PM CEST Cat Power - The Greatest From her new album with the same title which is going to be released January, 24th. The song is downloadable from Matador's Cat Power section. On the Covers Record she stripped down the originals to their bare bones. You could hardly identify the songs anymore. The new song goes into the other extreme. A lush slow-burning piano ballad full of strings, country guitar and background singing. And her slightly raspy melancholic voice in the centre. It's all a little overkill (in the vein of Neil Young's Harvest album) but what a beauty. link (no comments) ... comment October 12, 2005 at 11:06:00 PM CEST [meta] October 12, 2005 at 11:06:00 PM CEST success kills ist das eigentlich nur bei mir, dass die flickr-images meistens nicht mehr angezeigt werden? link (no comments) ... comment October 11, 2005 at 8:35:00 PM CEST [don't ask me] October 11, 2005 at 8:35:00 PM CEST Spinning out a dream I was at a party. Whenever I wanted to fill my glass with red wine, the bottle fell down and its contents were spilled across the floor. After a while I realised what was going on. Only when someone else served you a drink the bottle didn't fall down. So I started filling glasses for other people. Everyone got very drunk. Except me as nobody ever invited me for a drink. I didn't care anymore and went back to try fixing myself drinks. At the end the floor was covered with a couple of inches of red wine. Nobody gave a damn. And it dawned on me that it was my party at my house. link (no comments) ... comment October 10, 2005 at 11:32:00 PM CEST [music, artists] October 10, 2005 at 11:32:00 PM CEST the two voices jason pierce: soft, effeminate, opera-singer like, a pain in the ears sonic boom: young, innocent, sexy, wise, determined link (no comments) ... comment [music, songs] October 10, 2005 at 11:21:00 PM CEST i tried a music quiz the live version of suicide which is introduced by sonic boom with his voice reverbing around the club as a tribute to guess who? is a fucking nice trip into a world i cannot describe by words. but it's much closer to divinity than mr. spiritualized's mostly lame efforts to make a stronger song on god's son than lou reed's jesus. lord can you hear me? has got its moments though. link (no comments) ... comment [don't ask me] October 10, 2005 at 10:50:00 PM CEST onlinebevölkerungsbeschimpfung wieso interessiert sich eigentlich keine sau in diesem verdammichten universe für john peel's 140 lieblingsscheiben? link (no comments) ... comment ...
