Alan Moore, the comics author recently interviewed Brian Eno on BBC 4's chain reaction (28 minutes, >30 megs). How I love to listen to Brian Eno's clear way of thinking. Brian Eno is the Johann Sebastian Bach of our times. Via totally fuzzy.

P.S. Eno has finished a new album with songs. The first one for more than 25 years. Let's hope that it will be released soon.

Audiofile (see last post) offers the 85 seconds of Every work of art is an uncommitted crime (see second last post). I am not sure if Adorno would have approved of this. He wouldn't have dismissed it as evil popular music, that's for sure though.

I am probably the last one to find out. Salon has started a daily mp3 blog almost two weeks ago. It is called Audiofile and it features a wide variety of styles. Classical, experimental, jazz, blues, indie-rock etc. Of course you have to watch that ad clip to get the daypass but it is definitely worth it if you are interested in discovering some exciting new music. The writer of the column is Thomas Bartlett who also runs a blog named doveman after his band. I just listened to Pissing from the new Low album. It combines nicely the calm and noisy sides of the band.

Spoilt Victorian Child offers a 1968 live performance of All Night Flight by Terry Riley alias Poppy Nogood and the Phantom Band. A kind of cosmic psychedelic jam session. Buked & Scorned is an mp3 blog by Mike McGonigal with some phantastic rare music ranging from West-coast psychedelia, British indie rock, New Zealandish indie pop, gospel and back. Mike is writing the Loveless book in the 33 1/3 series at Continuum. Four songs I downloaded and enjoyed today:

• My Bloody Valentine - Sugar
. A rare flexi-disc I had never heard of before. An absolutely fucktastic drone.
• Velvet Underground - I Can't Stand It. Bootleg recorded next to Lou's guitar amp. You hardly hear anything else than his noisy guitar.
• Neil Young - Wonderin. Another bootleg from a 1970 Neil solo. Luverly.
• Antony & the Johnsons - You Stand Above Me. I really can believe Mike that this guy has released the best album of the year already. He has got the most expressive voice I have heard for a long time. Marc Almondish. Antony almost sounds like a castrate.

Nihil Rebound: Joy Division by Mark k-punk. Excellent 13 page essay on the darkest and most powerful of all bands. More on them later next week in this program.

Translation: Of all of Taylor's bands this is probably his best. Dense, sensitive interplay whose rules are completely inscrutable even after several listens. Taylor rashes, rummages through his complex rhythmic-melodic piano motives. Parker seems to mark time with his obstinate bass, Oxley clatters and rattles to this without playing one sensible beat.
