[music, songs] October 21, 2004 at 12:04:00 AM CEST Leslie Feist - One Evening This morning before going to work I listemed to a couple of songs by the Canadian singer Leslie Feist and I decided to go for her new album Let It Die instead of the albums I mentioned in my last post. Especially One Evening won me over. This song sounds like I would have liked Sade to sound in the eighties. Relaxed and jazzy but very expressive. It's weird and probably pathetic but I am in need of new female voices, fresh young blood if you want. The studio version of this song is light and deep at the same time. A cliché but isn't life about clichés? The other songs I heard of hers I didn't like too much as they were too contrived but this one is a miracle.

i got the album today. and there is only one great song on it. intuitive purchases are risky. this one was a dud. ... link

this kind of thing happened a lot when i started buying lots of music around 1990. nowadays in most acses i know more or less what i purchase. with leslie feist though i was somehow so charmed by this one song and another which i didn't like on second listen that i had to go for the cd. love at first sight. usually it does not work. neither with women nor with music. but with women performing music it used to work for me in the past. but i have another problem these days. my music taste is extremely unstable. one day (depending on the atmosphere and things) i love a piece or an album and the other day i can't stand it and have to stop it in the middle. i can't trust myself anymore concerning music. that is a very weird and frightening feeling. ... link
