[shopping etc] August 24, 2004 at 10:41:00 PM CEST Waiting for The new 40GB iPod costs $399 in the US. Which is 0.827529*399= € 330.18 But in Germany the iPod costs € 429 (D). I am not giving 100 euros to Apple like that. No way. Why should the Europeans pay for the "low" prices in the States? Why should I support a monopoly? Fuck off, Apple.

Call me smart-ass but if you compare similar products from other vendors (e.g. the iHP 120) you will find a difference of nearly 100 Euro too (based upon Amazon.de and .com prices). I think (fear?) this is due to taxation? ... link

you could be right, andreas. in france the same ipod costs even € 459. in any case the ipod is totally overpriced and apple is making fortunes with it. they do not seem to face any serious competition. ... link ... comment |
