Man, that was a good year, wasn't it? I love 5 of those albums (Okkervil River, Wilco, Beth Gibbons, Hayden, Montgolfier Bros), and I have a feeling I'd love the Tom Liwa, Suicide and Lambchop if I knew them better. Other favourites from that year: Damien Rice, Tom Waits (Alice), Nina Nastasia, The Bees, Little Wings, The Streets, Greg MacPherson Band, Reindeer Section... ... link

it was a good one. and we've now got enough time separating us from that year to make proper decisions on what we still really care for. i've gone for wilco as it's one of those truely strange cross genre albums that creep into the mass media. almost every song is great and jim o'rourke's input is marvellous (yet again). others i liked (an eclectic bunch): beck - sea change boards of canada - geogaddi cornelius - point jeremy dower - music for retirement villages est - strange place for snow rufus wainwright - poses yeah yeah yeahs - s/t liars - they threw us in a trench... aimee mann - lost in space radian - juxtaposition tin hat trio - book of silk ... link ... comment
