alex - i can't contribute to this one. 1983 seems to have been a nadir in my music listening experiences as i only own 7 from that year - only one of which is on your list and most of which are boots of bands i knew and admired in the sydney scene. i know i must have been listening to stuff and i was definitely playing my own music but maybe it was singles and so on more than albums. wasn't 83 the year of frankie goes to hollywood? maybe 84. ... link

no problem, phil. 1983 is a hard one. no clue which album to choose. they are all good but which one is exceptional? frankie goes to hollywood was 84. but i suppose human league were 1983, no? not so much into this dance stuff, neither then nor now. p.s. the only music of the top ten i listened to at the time was the rembetiko, the rickie lee jones and the oregon btw. i purchased everything else in the 90s or even later. ... link ... comment |
