another great year
my pick of this year is one your list - one of my top 10 - but it was a truely great year as far as i'm concerned...

thanks for your list. i forgot to put escalator over the hill on my list instead of the ry cooder. tant pis. it wouldn't have been my top spot anyways. i think yours and mine are the same. this time i am pretty sure.
of the other ones you mention i know almost nothing about. i have church of anthrax and seem to remember that there were some very boring tracks. can i never dug. faust i like but don't know well. phil glass i used to like but his minimal sound can go on my nerves very easily. pentangle i like too but only have one album of. t.rex was the music the girls at school in 1974 listened to. just before the bay city rollers arrived on the scene. i never got past that. rod stewart was a great bluesrock singer in the beginning but later... ... link

there's definitely a couple of 'minimalist' classics there and you have to allow yourself to be subsumed by that style if your going to get anything out of it.
