Does music mean as much to you as it used to, do you miss how it used to make you feel?

Wenn ich an heutigen Rockbands etwas interessant finde, ist es auch nur das: deren unglaubliche Soundsensibilität. Es ist ein Genuss für mich zu hören, wie genau diese ganzen Schrottbands, die zurzeit Rockmusik machen, ihren Sound kalibrieren. Sie haben eine ganz präzise Vorstellung davon, wie es klingen muss. Nach drei Akkorden habe ich diese Ideen allerdings begriffen, danach wird es langweilig.

Both my parents are still alive, though my father - I'm still waiting for the day he kills himself. Which sounds brutal, awful. But it is what I expect, what I learned to expect, early on, from his many threats, his moods, his terrible emotional violence. My parents divorced when I was five. I know full well the grief that an early marriage turned desolate and hopeless will wreak - I have known it almost all my life. 22 years later it can still reduce me to a kind of howling, whimpering pain.
